“Now Hear This!” is a delightful new collection of playful handcrafted songs from The Juicebox Jukebox. Top to bottom the album weaves together a fresh and fun melodic tapestry of children’s education, positive character building themes, and a great sense of humor that will make anyone smile (parents and teachers included.) Inspiration comes from all directions and in many styles. There’s something here for everyone, truly giving it an unpredictably diverse jukebox listening experience!
Songs like The ABC’s of You, Kindness, and Thankful give a modern call back to some endearing and timeless messages we grew up with on shows like Mister Rogers’ Neighborhood. You’ll learn about circles, triangles, and squares on Shh, Apes! a storybook song set in the jungle with hints of Harry Nilsson’s The Point! peeking through. You’ll jump around to a new polka all about numbers and learn to tidy up your room with the hippest and quickest clean up song around. This world will invite you to party with your favorite spooky characters with Happy Halloween or stay up late on Christmas Eve to get some much needed answers on Questions for Santa. Perhaps you’ll even feel inspired to create a new work of art after some sage advice on a Leon Redbone pastiche The Art Supplies Song. By the end of the album you'll be celebrating all the wonderfully unique traits that make you who you are on The One & Only You. Each song on “Now Hear This!” was written, recorded, produced and performed by singer/songwriter and father of three, Bradley James Skistimas. Additional dialogue and singing was provided by Bradley’s own children and nieces. The album is a culmination of two years creating online content for The Juicebox Jukebox’s YouTube channel, which also includes Skistimas work in animating accompanying music videos for each song that appears on the album. He says, “Doing the different voices and instruments as well as creating these songs and videos with my family has made this project the most fun experience I’ve ever had making music. I hope it inspires children and families everywhere to singalong, dance, smile, BE KIND and be you.” The album was mixed and mastered by GRAMMY Award winning engineer Andy Zulla (Rod Stewart, Kelly Clarkson.) You may think you've heard it all before. Now hear this! |
